First Steps: Emotional Regulation Workshop

“You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf” Jon Kabat-Zinn

A 6-week psycho-educational group programme for clients/patients in active addiction or early recovery.

Participants are equipped with emotional regulation techniques based on neuroscience-backed models such as the Window of Tolerance.

A bespoke workbook is provided to accompany participants throughout the course, and a personalised emotional regulation action plan upon completion.

Trauma and Addiction: Creating an Emotional Regulation Toolkit

Training professionals working in addiction and recovery to become trauma-informed, building competency and resilience.

A full-day training, delivered in-house within organisations to enable practitioners to:

  • Identify key trauma-related psychiatric diagnoses, distinguish between them and recognise their impact on clients

  • Understand the effects of trauma on the brain through neuroscientific research

  • Educate their clients on trauma and emotional regulation with creative psychoeducational models

  • Understand the link between trauma and addiction

  • Understand the complexities of co-morbidities between trauma, addiction, neurodivergence and poverty

  • Be better protected against vicarious trauma by becoming equipped with emotional regulation techniques

Dream Circle

An online group for counsellors, therapists and trainees. We meet once per month to facilitate personal dream work utilising traditional and Jungian psychoanalytic techniques and theories, which can then translate into working with client’s dreams.
