Training and Qualifications

MA Psychoanalytic Studies, University of Essex, (Distinction) 2022-202

This is the Master’s level degree that focuses on the depth-psychology of psychoanalysis, covering the work of theorists such as Freud, Klein, Winnicott and Bion. Modules also cover topics such as The Psychic Life of Gender, Psychoanalysis and the Psychosocial and Contemporary Debates in Psychoanalysis.

Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision (Distinction), 2021-22

I passed with distinction and qualified as a clinical supervisor after 60 hours of assessed theoretical and experiential training, enabling me to offer clinical supervision to other counsellors and therapists.

FdA Integrative Counselling, UEA and University of Essex (UOS), 2017.

This is the foundation degree-level certificate that qualifies me to provide counselling services to the public. It also qualifies me to the standard of member-status with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

Accredited Registrant NCPS 2022- Current

I am an accredited registerant of the NCS (National Counselling Society), meaning that my ethics, values and principles as a practitioner have been assessed.

Experience

I have 1,000+ hours experience working 1:1 with clients.

This includes clients that I see privately, within agencies that I have worked for, and hours that I have worked voluntarily for organisations. In addition to this, I also have many hours experience in facilitating groups.

I have 150+ hours Clinical Supervision experience.

This is comprised mostly of 1:1 clinical supervision with counsellors and therapists that range from newly qualified to more experienced. I have also facilitated supervision groups within organisations.

Voluntary work undertaken:

Volunteer Mentor- Open Road, Ipswich 2013-2015:

Working with individuals in the prison and probationary system in the community with a focus on integrating back into the world.

Volunteer Counsellor- Open Road, Colchester and Survivors in Transition 2016-2017:

Counselling clients presenting with substance misuse and/or trauma relating to childhood sexual abuse. Also providing vital assessment, needle exchange and harm reduction services at Open Road.

Volunteer CPD Co-Ordinator and Student Membership Co-Ordinator for the Suffolk Association for Counselling 2016-2018:

Sitting as a committee member for the association representing the student members. Also planning, organising and attending CPD events for counsellors across Suffolk.
